 With no none public events for Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th, on Wednesday Madam Vice President took part and delivered opening remarks at the UN’s Generation Equality Forum, “a global gathering for gender equality convened by UN Women in a live speech. The forum was co-hosted by the Governments of Mexico and France in partnership with youth and civil society.

According to the United Nations: The Forum kicked off in Mexico City in March and will culminate in Paris from 30 June to 2 July 2021, launching a series of concrete, ambitious and transformative actions to achieve immediate and irreversible progress towards gender equality. The event also marked the 25th anniversary of the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing.

Vice President Harris lead the U.S. virtual delegation to the Generation Equality Forum in Paris, and provided live opening remarks alongside co-hosts French President Emmanuel Macron, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and U.N. Secretary General António Guterres. 

2) In the afternoon, Vice President Harris joined President Biden in the South Court Auditorium for a meeting with some Western Governors to discuss ways and briefings to address this year’s current and upcoming severe fire danger, titled "Western Wildfires."



They were accompanied by Cabinet officials, and private sector partners to discuss the devastating intersection of drought, heat, and wildfires in the Western United States, and strengthening prevention, preparedness and response efforts for this wildfire season

  • Energy Department's Secretary Jennifer Granholm,
  • White House National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy 
  • White House's Chief of Staff, Ron Klein
  • Deputy secretary of Defense Kathleen Holland Hicks 
  • EPA Administrator Michael Regan,
  • Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall  who serves as the Homeland Security Advisor for U.S. President Joe Biden
  • Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas
  • Tom Vilsack, SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE

 Governors attending were: 

  • Gavin Newsom of California, 
  • Jared Polis of Colorado, 
  • Michelle Lynn Lujan Grisham of New Mexico, 
  • Steve Sisolak of Nevada, 
  • Kate Brown of Oregon, 
  • Spencer James Cox of Utah, 
  • Jay Robert Inslee of Washington 
  • Mark Gordon of Wyoming

 1) She began the day by joining President Biden in the Oval Office to receive the President's Daily Briefings.

2) At 1:30 pm, Vice President Harris joined President Biden in the Oval Office once more to receive Senators to discuss Infrastructure Investment. They were joined by Secretary Pete Buttigieg of the Transport Department and Secretary Gina Raimondo of the Commerce Department.

They met with Senator Capito, Senator Barrasso, Senator Blunt, Senator Crapo, Senator Toomey, and Senator Wicker to discuss the pressing need to invest in American infrastructure, continuing the bipartisan negotiations he’s been having on this leading priority for his Administration.

3) Later both President Biden and Vice President Harris met in the Rose Garden for a press conference where the President delivered remarks on the COVID-19 response and the vaccination program.

These remarks were different that than the others as it was the first time the President and Vice President were seen with their masks off. This is following an update from The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) who said that those who were fully vaccinated can be outside without their masks



4) Then she held an in-person and virtual roundtable discussion convened for the first meeting of the Task Force on Worker Organizing and Empowerment. This discussion was co-chaired by Secretary Marty Walsh of the Labour Department.



Also attending were Energy's Secretary Jennifer Granholm, Transport Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Treasury's Secretary Janet Yellen, Cedric Richmond Director of the Office of Public Engagement.

Thursday's discussion was about how the Administration can create good union jobs, help workers organize, and grow the economy.

 On Thursday February 25th, Madam Vice President Kamala Harris began the day visiting retailer Giant Food's pharmacy in SouthEast Washington D.C.



During the tour, Madam Vice President was accompanied by Representative Eleanor Norton (D-District of Columbia), to highlight the administration’s Federal Retail Pharmacy Program designed to reach communities that need the COVID-19 vaccines the most. She met with pharmacist to check on the status of the program and watched as the COVID-19 was administered to someone.

According to CBS' White House reporter Tim Perry, MVP Harris spoke for the first time about the Moderna COVID-19's side effects she encounter. She said that she experienced the side effects for only a day, adding "the first does I was fine," but adds after the second she realized "I might need to slow down." 

Then she returned to the White House, joining President Biden in the White House Situation Room for the President's Daily Briefs. Followed by a private lunch in the Private Dining room.

Later in the afternoon, President Biden and Vice President Harris met in Oval Office to receive the COVID-19 briefings.

Following by President Biden and Vice President Harris took part in an event in the South Court Auditorium commemorating the 50 millionth COVID-19 vaccine being administered.



After that, Madam Vice President held a swearing in ceremony for a new member of the Biden-Harris administration. Jennifer M. Granholm, former Michigan Governor was picked by the Biden-Harris transition as the nominee for the Energy Secretary was confirmed by the Senate Energy Committee on February 24th in a vote of 64-35. Secretary Granholm becomes the 16th Head of the Department of Energy.



Like i had previously written on the blog, Vice President Harris' work will most focus on building her foreign policy portfolio. According to CBS' White House reporter Tim Perry, Madam Vice President has picked two broad subjects to focus on that is in addition to the administration's agenda. Those subjects are cybersecurity and technology, and global health and comes from her Senatorial days and being a member of the Senate Intelligence committee.

Later on she hosted in the ceremonial office, an Intergenerational group of the Congressional Black Caucus for her first meeting since January 20th. Madam Vice President as a senator was a member of the CBC. Those who visited where CBC Chair Joyce Beatty (OH-03), Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05), Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05), Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08), and Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II (MO-05). This meeting took place in alignment with the Living Black History initiative reflecting the CBC’s slogan “Our Power, Our Message.



The meeting took place during the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Congressional Black Caucus.
