2) On the occasion of the First anniversary of the cruel death of George Floyd, President Biden and Vice President Harris invited the late George Floyd's family to the White House to mark the day and discuss how to change the laws.

George Floyd was a 46-year-old Black man who was killed on May 25, 2020, after then-cop Derek Chauvin pressed his knee onto his neck for more than nine minutes whilst Floyd was unarmed. George Floyd’s death sparked a nation and also worldwide calls for racial justice in policing and a reimagining of law enforcement.
The hour long meeting comes as the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. The Act is a legislation that would set up a national registry of police misconduct, ban racial and religious profiling by law enforcement and overhaul qualified immunity for police officers remains stalled in the Senate. The act was introduced by Senator Cory Booker, Representative Karen Bass, and the then Senator Kamala Harris.
3) Later she hosted a Oath of Office swear in ceremony at the Justice Department on Tuesday evening. Kristen Clark was nominated by the Biden-Harris team on January 7th to the post of Assistant Attorney General for the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Department.
She was confirmed on Monday by the Senate in a 51-48 vote becoming the First Black woman confirm to lead the Civil Rights Department of the Justice Department.
