On Saturday November 28th, Madam Vice President-elect Kamala Harris accompanied by her husband Doug Emhoff visited the DC. Downtown Holiday Market in support of Small Business Saturday.

The Vice-Presidential-elect couple were accompanied by Washington D.C's mayor Muriel Bowser as they toured, shopped, bought and supported the various stands especially those held by Black and People of colours.
In a tweet to support the day, Madam VP wrote out "Small businesses, especially Black and minority-owned businesses, urgently need relief to survive the effects of coronavirus this winter. @JoeBiden and I are committed to helping these businesses during this pandemic and get them the support they need to thrive in years to come."
She also urged everyone to shop local and support small businesses. The Downtown Holiday Market organised by the DowntownDC Improvement District and Diverse Market Management is an annual spectacular outdoor market which is currently in its 16th year held at F St, NW DC from November 20th to December 23rd. It brings together and supports small businesses and entrepreneurs from across the District of Columbia region.
Thanksgiving:
To mark this year's thanksgiving, MVP K. Harris and Doug who spent the holidays together called health workers and frontline staff who were dedicating their holidays to help in the fight against COVID-19. Amongst them was Talisa, an RN living in Chicago.
On Thanksgiving eve, she called Tyler Gordon, a 14-year old black teen and artist living in San Francisco, Bay Area who had drawn a picture of her and Joe Biden.
