Then the two leaders shared a moment gazing at the White House from one of the building’s balconies — similar to last month during Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga’s visit.
After both leaders briefly held remarks, “President Joe Biden and I am confident that together we can promote a free, open and prosperous Indo-Pacific region, a region that is unconstrained by coercion and anchored in international rules and order.”
She said, “At a time when our world faces increasing threats to our health, security and climate, it is more important than ever that the United States and the Republic of Korea work closely together.”
2) Then she virtually attended the Global Health Summit hosted by the World Health Organization and the G7 countries especially in partnership between Italy, which currently holds G20 Presidency and the European Commission — to discuss the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and pledge new commitments to help ensure COVID-19 vaccine doses reach the populations that need them most.
She delivered remarks on behalf of President Biden who was receiving President Moon of South Korea announcing that the administration has backed calls from many developing countries for the patent waiver, in the hope this would boost production and allow more equitable distribution.
