MVP Kamala's schedule for May 20th

 1) Vice President Kamala Harris spoke on the phone with His Majesty King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. During the call both, VP Harris reaffirmed the United States' support and express their commitment to continued close cooperation. She also briefed him on the intensive diplomatic efforts to support to stop the Israeli escalations in East Jerusalem and the aggression on the Gaza stripe*



As many people know through my other blog, Queen Rania's Closet King Abdullah II and his ancestors before him are Custodian of the Holy City of Jerusalem and have been working tremendously in de-escalating the tensions in the Gaza especially in the last 11 days where an apartheid happening towards the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Whilst His Majesty King Abdullah II stressed out the need to provide protection for the Palestinians and their properties and stop the Israeli violations against them.

Later in the day, it was announced that Israel and Hamas agree with a cease fire.

2) Then she joined President Biden in the East Room where she delivered remarks before the President signed the COVID-19 Hate Crime Bill Act into law.

COVID-19 Hate Crime Bill Act passed its final reading in the House of Representatives on Tuesday in a rare show of bipartisanship following an increase in high-profile attacks on Asian Americans in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The legislation which was introduced by Rep. Grace Meng, D-N.Y., and Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, will instructs the Department of Justice to designate a representative to expedite the review of hate crimes related to COVID-19.



During her remarks, Vice President thanked the lawmakers, many of whom attended the evening for their work.

"To the members of our United States Congress on both sides of the aisle who helped pass the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act, thank you," she said. "Because of you, history will remember this day and this moment when our nation took action to combat hate."
