In Washington D.C., Vice President Kamala Harris met with Texas House Democrats and hailed their special session walkout a patriotic gesture.

As a result of their actions, the Texas House of Representatives were unable to vote on a controversial election law. VP Harris stated the Texas Democrats' actions were bold and patriotic, and that they were taken in defense of the freedom to vote for all Americans, not just Texas Democrats.

According to the vice president, the measures made by Texan Democrats to safeguard voting rights are comparable in significance to pivotal events in the suffrage campaign in the United States. "Voting is not a one-size-fits-all proposition," Harris added.
