1) She met with President Biden in the Oval Office to receive the President's Daily Briefings then the weekly COVID-19 briefings

2) Then she met with the President for lunch in the Private Dining Room 

3)World leaders came together on June 2nd for The Gavi COVAX AMC Summit “One World Protected” virtual event hosted by Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide and Gavi Board Chair José Manuel Barroso.

Madam Vice President attended and was one of the speakers who gave remarks during the summit. She reiterating USA support as a key Gavi partner for more than two decades. The Administration's US$ 4 billion commitment for procurement and delivery of COVID-19 vaccines to lower-income countries and economies is helping ensure COVAX is equipped to reach its goals.

4) She later administered an Oath of Office in a swear in ceremony in the Vice President's ceremonial office for a new member of the Cabinet. Dr. Eric Lander was nominated by President Biden on January 2021 as Senior Advisor and Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy.

On May 20th, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation voted to report favorably on the nomination, with five Republican senators voting against and on May 28, 2021, before a Memorial day recess, his nomination was confirmed by voice vote by the full senate. 

Dr. Lander becomes the 11th Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy.
