MVP Kamala's Schedule for February 26th
On Friday's schedule, Madam Vice President Harris joined President Biden in the Oval Office for the President's Daily Briefs.
During the day, she held calls from foreign leaders. Her first call was to the Kingdom of Denmark's Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen. During the call, both ladies spoke about COVID-19, NATO(MVP Harris thanked Denmark for its NATO contributions and missions to Iraq), climate change, China, and the importance of women to our economies.
Madam Vice President also spoke about her commitment and importance to strengthen bilateral and multilateral alliances between the Kingdom and the United States.
Then she held another call to the Democratic Republic of Congo's Head of States, President Felix Tshekedi. During the call both leaders spoke about reinforcing bilateral ties and alliances, good governance and reforms, COVID-19, Ebola, trade, girls’ education, the environment, and economic opportunity. They agreed to deepen our partnership to advance the shared interests of the American and Congolese people.
Later in the evening, President Joe Biden, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff hosted a virtual Black History Month Celebration.
